Jay and Lynsey Colgan of A Child’s University have been named the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year for 2015.

CRANSTON, RI April 8, 2015: JAY COLGAN and LYNSEY COLGAN have been named the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year for Rhode Island and New England. The husband and wife team are being honored for their work as founders of the nationally accredited and award-winning company, A Child’s University. Employing over 80 people, the Colgans also own ACUrealty, GB Holdings, and eMedia.

A Child’s University Makes The INC. Magazine Hire Power List

CRANSTON, RI - Rhode Island’s own A Child’s University was just named to the number four spot in the nation on INC. Magazine’s Hire Power Award and represents the only business in Rhode Island to be included in this category. As an industry leader in the $2 million to $5 million dollar classification, the nationally accredited institution has provided services to thousands of families over the last decade and has close to 100 employees in the State of Rhode Island.

The school will now provide early childhood education services for children from infancy through kindergarten.

The $1,000,000-plus project includes state-of-the-art classrooms, security and camera systems including biometric fingerprint check-in systems, several new outdoor discovery playgrounds with NFL-like artificial turf, and a host of other bells and whistles. The project was led by Lynsey Colgan, owner, and took over seven years to complete since she purchased the land on Park Avenue in 2005
